"Climate change is one of the most pressing challenges we face. Despite inaction at the federal level, Rhode Island is moving forward to protect our natural resources, particularly our 400 miles of coastline. We know that cars, trucks and SUVs are a major contributor to greenhouse gas emissions, and we are committed to making our transportation system cleaner. This year, we started the process of removing aging diesel buses from our roadways and replacing them with electric vehicles. We're proud to be a member of the Transportation Climate Initiative, and I applaud this critical next step toward a greener future."
